2006 HSUS RAVS CLINIC INCLUDED 59 RESCUES, 256 NEUTER/SPAYS, AND 800 SHOTS. A TOTAL OF 522 DIFFERENT ANIMALS WERE SERVED.
NO RAVS CLINIC FOR SUMMER 2009
The Humane Society of the United States, RAVS (Rural Area Veterinarian Program) has served the Red Lake Reservation for the past 5 years with a clinic which focuses on free neutering/spaying, immunizations, and examinations. The staff headed by Dr. Leo Egar and Dr. Davis also provided humane education on animal care. Products are given to guardians including frontline which helps with parasites, including fleas. The most recent clinic was extended to 5 days from July 21-28, 2008, for a total of $87,015 in free services to our community animals.
The 2008 RAVS clinic provided 7 volunteer vets, 28 vet students, and 3 vet technicians provided a services to a total of 490 animals including 270 neuter/spay and 220 medicine and vaccinations only.
